April 28th Update

Writing silly recipes as a part of our measurement unit.

Finding pictures of steel objects as a part of her LiD study.

A few meal worm chrysalises before they became beetles.

Painting colorful butterfly wings using markers and coffee filters.

In gorge studies and science, we continued to read and discuss our solar system, covering Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Most of our mealworms turned to beetles and we began writing projects about gorge animals we have studied throughout the year.

We surveyed our classmates about favorite foods, animals, ice cream flavors and then graphed our survey results on a bar graph and a pictograph.

We learned to foxwalk, which is a way of walking, where you use your feet to feel ahead of you before you step down. This allowed us to move very silently and to freeze very quickly, just like foxes!

We continued to read silently for at least 25 minutes every single day!

Also, we drew animals on small wooden boards that we are going to paint and hang up on the mural. Send a paint shirt if you haven’t already!!!!
